Processing of scientific information in adults with ADHD
Thank you for showing an interest in this project. Please read this information sheet carefully before deciding whether or not to participate. If you decide to participate, we thank you. If you decide not to take part there will be no disadvantage to you, and we thank you for considering our request. Your are free to exit the study process at any time without penalty. Data from incomplete surveys will not be used.
What is the Aim of the Project?
The aim of this project is to better understand the processing of scientific information in adults with ADHD (attention deficit hyperactivity disorder).
What are the Requirements to Participate?
You must be over 18 years old, be proficient in English, and have no tertiary degree (BSc or higher) in science. Participants with ADHD must state that they have received a diagnosis by a physician (i.e., rather than self-diagnosed).
What will Participants be Asked to do?
Should you agree to take part in this project, you will be asked to answer questions and read a short piece of text. It shouldn't take longer than 30 minutes.
Participants can opt to go in draw to win one of two $50USD Amazon Gift Cards.
What Data or Information will be Collected and What Use will be Made of it?
Personal information will be destroyed after the data required for the study has been transcribed. Data will be held for a minimum of five years as per University of Otago regulations, and possibly indefinitely beyond that period.
Data collected for this study will not be used for any commercial purposes. The results of the project may be published and will be available in the University of Otago Library (Dunedin, New Zealand). Every attempt will be made to preserve your anonymity.

This study has been approved by the University of Otago Human Ethics Committee (24/0176).
